HELPING TO END HOMELESSNESS
IN THE MAT-SU VALLEY
We are looking for board members, a Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator as well as multiple Case Managers and Phone Handlers so we can distribute the load.
FOUNDER/CONSULTANT - Sandi Smothers Sagerian the founder of WHC, and served as director for 2 years, She is a graduate of the Beth-El School of Nursing and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Case Managers. She currently lives in Dickinson, TX.
DIRECTOR - Laurie Phillips is one of the founders of WHC and served as secretary from January 2015 until elected as Director January 2017. She attended Mat-Su Community College. She is retired from GCI and is an avid volunteer working with Frontline Mission and Thrifters Rock. She lives in Wasilla, AK.
TREASURER - Kathy Towns has served in this position since the start. She also serves as treasurer at Cross Country Church. Kathy is a certified CPR/FA and Wilderness First Aide instructor. She currently works at Anchorage Sand & Gravel as the IT Administrator. She attended the University of Alaska. She lives in Wasilla, AK.
CASE MANAGER & DONATIONS SCHEDULER - Lori Petal
SECRETARY- Kaitlyn Espada joined WHC in 2017. She is a self employed realtor with Center 21 Realty Solutions, She attended Northern Virginia Community College. Originally from Falls Church, VA, she currently lives in Wasilla, AK.
DELIVERY DRIVERS - Laurie Phillips, Kathy Towns along with Bill Fikes, founding member, drive the WHC Van. Bill is a veteran of 10 years in the US Army, avocations include graphics design, political activist, Ordained Minister, Manager for Webmusher Design, CEO Alaska Hemp. He lives in Meadow Lakes, formerly of Ft Richardson, Eagle River/Chugiak, Anchorage, Wasilla & Palmer variously since 1965.
